I am very happy with these OBTB Jal boots. I like the combat boot styling, cushioned footbed, and fit. The leather is thin, which helps keep their weight down. My size 10 pair weighs just 27 ounces. The suede upper is slightly distressed, and the full leather lining is super soft and comfy. I disliked the lacing pattern because it made them hard to get on and off. I changed that. After unlacing them completely, I used the awl on my Swiss army knife to slightly enlarge the holes, then re-laced in a normal running shoe pattern up to the fourth holes. This makes them easy to get on and off, plus increases the comfort. Now the laces can be wrapped around the ankle or tied in a bow on top of a bow, showing four loops. These boots have a lovely narrow heel which means they will not slip. I find them true to size. The soles are sturdy, flexible and lightweight. These little boots will go with many of my favorite outfits. The soft leather in the shaft and tongue can be folded down or styled to look cute with leggings or skinny jeans. The grey suede is an easy, feminine counter to the toughness of the combat styling. Boho chic. For the last couple of years, I have been adding much more grey into my wardrobe. I like the way it works in a variety of settings, climates, and seasons. I have been looking for grey walking shoes for quite a while. I am glad to have found these boots. They are comfy right out of the box. The leather softened up very quickly. The quality of the construction could be better, but the discounted price, comfort and overall quality make these sweet boots a bargain. They arrived ahead of schedule in perfect condition.
