I bought these to wear for work and they are comfy and I walk around a lot (I'm a teacher.) I like the heel and feel pretty sturdy and not like I'm going to slip.I usually wear 7.5 and my feet are average width. These fit too tight so I had to return for an 8. Id recommend half size larger. I wear no show socks that are thin so thick socks may require a full size up.
